New Perodua Myvi 2011

Image
The Perodua Myvi first arrived on the scene in May 2005. With 487,400 units sold since then, the five-door hatchback has certainly been popular with the public – that it has been the country’s best-selling model for five years, from 2006 to 2010, states it all. Of course, as good a run as it has been in terms of numbers, there’s only one way to ensure further success, so it’s time for a change, or at least a complete makeover for the car. The first-generation Myvi was facelifted in August 2008, but now a full revision is at hand with the arrival of the 2011 Myvi. Read our full report

The 2011 Perodua Alza Exclusive Edition, a special limited version of the Alza Advanced variant, will be launched around mid-2011 to commemorate a visit by former Malaysia Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad—his first in a decade—to Perodua’s manufacturing plants yesterday. Unlike the Perodua Viva Elite Exclusive Edition and the Perodua Myvi Limited Edition, the Alza Exclusive Edition will be limited to 500 units. The pricing and equipment level will be announced closer to the car’s launch. Expect the familiar strategy of some visual differentiation, more colours and interior updates for a slight increase in price. Perodua has pledged to donate RM 1000 for every unit of the Alza Exclusive Edition sold, which will raise RM 500,000 for the Perdana Leadership Foundation. The national automaker also encourages individuals and corporations to donate by buying the special edition Alza at a premium over the finalised pricing. Perodua Nautica 4WD

Image
The Perodua Kembara was launched in 1998, and as one of the cheapest 4WD SUVs in the market, it took the lion’s share of the SUV market - 60% by 1999. The Kembara’s successor - the Perodua Nautica 4WD was launched today and Perodua seems to be approaching it differently, bringing it as a premium product imported from Japan (a first for a Perodua) with only one variant priced at RM89,900 OTR with insurance . While the Kembara took 60%, Perodua only intends to take 5% of the current SUV market, with sales of about 150 to 200 units monthly. The Perodua Nautica is essentially a Perodua-badged version of the short wheelbase Daihatsu Terios/ Toyota Rush. The front bumper and grille is different, and these along with the rear bumper are made locally in Malaysia, while the rest of the car comes completely assembled from Japan. For lighting, you get foglamps and twin projector halogen headlamps (a step up from the highline Toyota Rush which has a single projector) while the rear brake lamp...
