Perodua MyVi

The Perodua Myvi is a supermini/ subcompact car launched in 2005 by Malaysian car maker Perodua. The Myvi was the result of Perodua's collaboration with Toyota and Daihatsu. Based on the second generation Daihatsu Sirion/Boon, the MyVi is also similar in design as the Toyota Passo. The 1 liter Myvi which is the Perodua Myvi 1.0SR will be using the EJ-VE 1 liter 3 cylinder DOHC engine, an upgraded version of the EJ-DE 1 liter 3 cylinder DOHC found in the Kenari/Kelisa. http://www.perodua.com.my

Proton X70 SUV open for booking

Proton Holdings Bhd will open bookings for its new sports utility vehicle from tomorrow. The new SUV, which has been named using a new alphanumeric naming convention as the X70 is available for booking for RM1000. The X70 was unveiled to the media at a special media preview held today at the Proton Styling Studio at the Proton Centre of Excellence. Present at the event was Proton chief executive officer Dr Li Chunrong, deputy chief executive officer Datuk Radzaif Mohamed as well as other senior management members. While there are few changes to the external lines to differentiate the Proton SUV from its Geely counterpart, Proton has incorporated a few uniquely Malaysian design touches to the X70. Toyota Innova

Toyota Innova was launched on May 2005. This is the latest in the range of Toyota people movers known as the IMV platform. IMV stands for International Innovative Multipurpose Vehicle. Toyota created this platform when they realized their people mover vehicles in most countries were looking pretty dated. Most of you might have already heard of this model as it’s pretty hot in Indonesia as the Toyota Kijang Innova. It’s a true 8-seater model unlike most 7-seater MPV. There are two models available, the 2.0G and the 2.0E. Both models come in either 4 speed automatic with ECT or 5 speed manual versions. The Toyota Innova is powered by a 2 liter 4 cylinder 16 valve DOHC VVT-i engine which is good for 100kW (roughly 135hp) and 182Nm of torque. This is an improvement over Toyota’s previous flagship budget people mover the Toyota Unser which only has a 1.8 liter engine with no variable valve timing.
