Perodua MyVi

The Perodua Myvi is a supermini/ subcompact car launched in 2005 by Malaysian car maker Perodua. The Myvi was the result of Perodua's collaboration with Toyota and Daihatsu. Based on the second generation Daihatsu Sirion/Boon, the MyVi is also similar in design as the Toyota Passo. The 1 liter Myvi which is the Perodua Myvi 1.0SR will be using the EJ-VE 1 liter 3 cylinder DOHC engine, an upgraded version of the EJ-DE 1 liter 3 cylinder DOHC found in the Kenari/Kelisa. http://www.perodua.com.my

Duh, It’s A Car Stereo!

Pretty self-explanatory isn’t it? It’s a stereo system in a car, you say. Whoa, hold your horses, it’s not that simple. Although some people like to put home stereos in their cars and vans (out of dire need for some sounds), sometimes it just doesn’t work. Yeah, maybe before it could’ve worked just fine, all you needed was radio and a cassette player (or 8 tracks, for the inner dinosaur in you) so sure, lug those big box speakers into the back seat and you’ll be blaring down the highway. But nowadays there are things like cd players and mp3 players and your popup LCD panels and all that techie knickknack you’d think they’d like to build a home theater system right smack on the console of your van. If you don’t know anything about these things but would like to have some sounds in your car anyway, here are some things to know about a car stereo. New Toyota Altis 2008

If you visit Toyota Malaysia ’s website you will notice a teaser button on the All-New Toyota Altis 2008. This all-new model is expected to be launched in March this year. Eventhough there is no real photo published in the Toyota website but through google image search you can find this car photos taken during Thailand autohshow sometime last year. From the picture you can see the different but basically nothing major like what they did to the Camry. Anyway, being a Toyota, I believe they have their loyal follower and of course this model will get nice booking number soon.

Daihatsu Boon

Daihatsu has released a new variant of the Daihatsu Boon called the Daihatsu Boon X4. It reminds me of the old Daihatsu Charade GTTI. The Daihatsu Boon X4 looks like a great basis for a rally car , if you could somehow get around it’s slightly high center of gravity. Let’s have a look at the specifications. The Daihatsu Boon X4 is powered by a turbocharged intercooled 936cc engine instead of the 1.3 liter intercooler turbo K3-VET Daihatsu YRV engine . This engine is called the KJ-VET, which is a 1.0 liter DOHC 4-cylinder engine making 133hp at 7200rpm and 133Nm of torque at 3600rpm. Very nice and not too over the top power figures for a car that size and weight, and it’s linked to a 5-speed manual transmission . It also comes with full-time 4WD. The Perodua Axia has arrived

Perusahaan Otomobil Kedua Sdn Bhd (Perodua) is on track to achieve its target of selling 30,000 units of Perodua Axia by year-end, said its chief executive officer, Datuk Aminar Rashid Salleh. Aminar said since booking opened on August 15, it has received bookings for 13,500 units, with daily bookings of between 500 and 600 units. "Most of the demand were for the Standard G variants, both automatic and manual transmissions, which accounted for around 50% of the total bookings," he told a media briefing on the launch of the model today. Currently, Aminar said, the booking period for the model was about 1.5 months and the maximum time period expected was under two months. During the launch, the compact carmaker also announced a better price positioning for all Axia variants.
